About Philipp Weber
“Looking behind the facade”

Philipp Weber is born in Rostock, Germany, in 1974, and graduated with its masters at the best university in Europe (“Universität der Künste” (Berlin) – to learn from the best. Even as a child, he often visited historical museums, where, as a young boy, he was particularly impressed by the old masters like Michelangelo, draftsman of the universe. One of the goals for Philipp to paint hyperrealistic paintings for the inner truth and personality. “My personal experiences and the stories, wishes and dreams of people close to me are very important. Because it is our very personal fears, longings and emotions that are reflected in my art. In each picture I want to tell the inspiring story behind the beautiful story, not just the apparent truth at first glance. In other words: looking behind the façade with its many emotional worlds and desires, that each of us secretly has.” Looking at the outstanding detailed artworks, it’s clear to see why some of them can take Philipp months, sometimes even years to complete. His credo is always: looking perfectly behind the facade, no matter how long it takes.

It’s in the details

The hyperrealistic style focuses much more of its emphasis on details and the subjects – the larger and the more detailed the works, the more they fascinate.
